3 drastic changes to my life occurred last week and I’m better off as a result of all of them. They have all made me realize some truly important things, including how important the people we share our life with are. Thank you to the amazing people who support me and bring inspiration to my life. I can’t wait to enjoy more of life’s treasured moments with you all. <3 K

Those unable to let go of the fear of possible failure, humiliation, deceit, and overall pain.

It breaks my heart because I used to be one of those people.

And because I’ve had my heart broken by those people.

Life is about taking chances!

It’s about living to the fullest!

And in my opinion, that means breaking the rules.

The personal rules.

The rules of protection.

Of the need to keep oneself guarded and safe from the pain.

Because the fact is, we’ll all experience pain.

And sometimes that will be as a result of the loss of, or humiliation of, or the failure of love.

But!

Isn’t that better than the pain of not experiencing?

Better than the sting of eternal loneliness?

If the answer is no…

Then you are one of those people.

And I’m sorry.

Bravery

1. A quality of spirit that enables you to face danger or pain without showing fear.

Why do I write about bravery? Let’s see..

Since coming home from my rather interesting birthday weekend I decided to create personal goals for myself each month. I must work on them and have made some effort into improving upon myself in some manner by the end of that month. We all need to grow as people and I feel as though I haven’t really been working to do so. So last month my goal was to be brave from here on out.

Now, the definition provided by Webster in no way is what I mean. In fact, I’m not entirely sure I agree with that definition. In my opinion the term, or the meaning behind the term, is ever-changing. It can mean different things to different people at different points in time. And at this point in time, for me, bravery means being 100% honest, first and foremost with myself, and then to spread that on to others.

Needless to say this past month has led to a lot of deep reflection and soul searching, which continues each and every day. There was a lot in me that I hadn’t truly allowed myself to realize because I hadn’t looked far enough into myself to even know it was there. And how can one go on day and day without even knowing or being honest with oneself. The only thing that I absolutely expect from others is honesty, but how hypocritical have I been in that manner. I suppose we are all as honest as we can be given the information we have, but why don’t we try and gather more information and be honest about that too. That’s what I’ve done and it’s led to an amazing month! It takes a lot of thought and a lot of effort everyday, but is it ever worth it.

So my next goal..? Yet to be determined. Thoughts of your own…?
